Welcome to Wild North! We are so glad you’re here. We are Canadian RVers and adventure seekers and enthusiastic about inspiring others to get outside of their comfort zone and explore the world around them.

Wild North was born from a desire to share our adventures while helping others achieve the same dream. We were inspired by those who came before us and we hope we can do the same for you!

Our Story

We’ve been camping and road tripping together since 2016 from our home base in the Greater Toronto Area.

In 2020, we were stuck in our apartment alongside the rest of the world when we discovered the RV- and Vanlife side of Youtube. Watching other couples and families sell it all and find freedom on the road was incredibly appealing after spending months under lockdown.

We made a plan, sold our cars, and bought a truck and RV.

We spent the summer of 2021 renovating our fifth wheel RV and planning our next steps for travel. Being in Canada, the winters are just too cold to manage in an RV (or so we thought), so we decided to head west to Vancouver Island to survive the chilly weather, exploring the prairies and mountains along the way. We lived in Tofino for five months and absolutely fell in love with coastal living. The ocean forever has our hearts.

We headed back home to Ontario in the spring, got married that June, and by Christmas were expecting our little one! We parked our RV on our parents property and continued to live the (stationary) RV life while navigating drastic changes. Life was an absolutely whirlwind as we welcomed our daughter in the fall of 2023 and settled down a bit at our new home base.

Summer 2024 brought the urge to get back on the road. We had some experience managing a little one under our belt and felt ready to tackle long distance RV travel. Joel worked his butt off modifying our couples (1 bedroom!) fifth wheel to accommodate a baby’s room and headed east to see the Maritimes. We’ve now explored 9 of Canada’s 10 provinces and can’t wait to check off the rest of the great, Wild North.
